CONSERVATION
Promote sporting conservation of the wildlife and wildlife habitat in Mobile and surrounding areas.
Mobile County Wildlife & Conservation Association is dedicated to the preservation, enhancement, protection and advocacy of Alabama’s wildlife and issues relating to conservation and natural resources. From its humble yet dedicated beginnings 90 years ago until today, MCWCA remains the voice of the Southwest Alabama hunter, fisher, conservationist and concerned citizen on issues involving wildlife habitat, water quality, air quality, game bag limits, creel limits, and land use.
The name Stauter is synonymous with quality wooden boats and the Mobile-Tensaw River Delta. Lawrence Stauter grew up on Conway Creek, an isolated, swampy section of the Delta, where boats were a necessity. His father, Lence, a descendant of German immigrants, taught Stauter how to build boats in 1930 even though he had no formal training.
At our organization, we are dedicated to driving meaningful impact and fostering positive change. Our goals are the cornerstone of our mission and guide our actions and decisions. Here’s an overview of what we aim to achieve:
Promote sporting conservation of the wildlife and wildlife habitat in Mobile and surrounding areas.
Improve and protect the ecosystems in the Mobile/Tensaw Delta and the Mobile Bay.
Continue to encourage and promote conservation education to our Youth.
Monitor current hunting, fishing, and environmental issues pending at the local and state levels.
